Tems, a Nigerian music artist has won her first Grammy award at the 2023 ceremony.
Tems was incorporated in Future’s 2022 smash song, “Wait for U,” which also included Drake, and was listed among the winners on Sunday night.
While Tems won in the category of ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance,’ her colleague Burna Boy did not win in any of his categories.
He had been nominated for ‘Best Global Music Album’ and ‘Best Global Music Performance’.
South Africa’s Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, and Nomcebo Zikode defeated Burna Boy’s Last Last to win the Best Global Music Performance award, while Japan’s Masa Takumi edged out his album, ‘Love Damini,’ to win the Best Global Album award.
